Even though I didn't write much here last year (although I had great intentions but ended up writing a book), the blog kept being popular with lots of views and readers so today I'm doing a review of what you liked the most in 2022 here.

I will use this info to create new content that aligns with what you're reading the most.

What I'm finding very interesting from this analysis is how just within a few years, the most popular posts are starting to move from those on the PR topic over to those on the Project/Program Management topic. This is evident if I look at what you spent time reading in 2022.

Let's take a look at the most popular posts written in 2022, the most popular posts written anytime but read in 2022 and the most popular posts of all time written any time and read any time.

The Top Posts on Iliyana's Blog for 2020

As the new year begins, not only do I reflect on what's happened for me personally and professionally, but also on how this blog has been performing.

I'll have to be honest, 2020 was rather busy for me with a still relatively new job at a new company in a new country, getting pregnant and giving birth, moving to a new city, buying a house and furnishing it.

I didn't neglect the blog but I didn't have as much time for it as I would have wished so I had to move down my publishing schedule from once a week to once every two weeks.

With that in mind, I was curious to see the performance of the blog posts I wrote and published last year and of those from all time.

Let's dive in.

Continuing the SEO series, this is a guest post by SEO consultant Paul Teitelman

Blogging has evolved from a niche option to the standard of content marketing across just about every web niche you can think of, but this serves as a bit of a double-edged sword.

The popularity of blogging means that it’s very subject to diminishing returns, and perhaps nothing illustrates this better than SEO. With every single new blog that pops up, that’s a new piece of competition when it comes to getting eyes on your content through Google.

The key way to stand apart here is through making sure that you take the time not just to follow trends, but to make sure you have a fundamentally sound strategy for your SEO content.

So, whether you are putting together an editorial calendar for your own content or preparing some guidelines before hiring an outside content marketing service, here are some of the things you can do to help the SEO structure of your blog develop.

How Blogging Got Me to Publish a Book and How You Can Do It Too

[fa icon="calendar'] 06-Aug-2019 08:30:10 / by Iliyana Stareva posted in Writing, Blogging

When I was in my first year at university, I fell in love with marketing and communications and specifically, PR.

This was unusual as I was doing a BA in International Business and most students with such a degree tend to choose finance or consulting as a career.

But authors like Brian Solis and David Meerman Scott helped me make my choice.

I decided to follow their footsteps and set myself a goal: One day, I will publish a book about PR with Wiley.

Little did I know that eight years later, I'd achieve my goal.

How did I do it? By starting a blog in that first year of university.

As I didn't study PR, a blog was the best way to develop writing skills that are so crucial for PR. Also, social media and SEO are another set of skills you need so that you can spread the word about your blog and have a readership.

But what was crucial was that I didn't give up. It was hard, it was time-consuming to do on top of all of your responsibilities but 7+ years later, I still keep publishing content once a week.

It's discipline and persistence that are required for remarkable content.
