I love reading! Did you know that already? I’m sure I’ve mentioned that I can't live without my Kindle. So, here’s what’s on my list of books I am planning to read over the summer.

Your Twitter You with Twylah

I’ve always been interested in trying out new social media platforms and I’m seldom really impressed with a particular one. Pinterst was (still is) certainly the case, but now there is another one that grabbed my attention – Twylah. It’s a comprehensive, but up-to-the-point visual representation of the Twitter ‘You'.
To have a profile on Twylah you need an invite as it is still in beta, but it only takes a few days and it is worth waiting for (it's also free!). Here’s my Twylah page so that you can have an idea of what it looks like. Basically it shows all my trending topics, i.e. the keywords I use the most, which obviously are Social Media, Facebook, PR etc.
As it says on the website, Twylah is "the best way to share your tweets" as it "bring your brand message into focus, extends the life of your tweets, and helps you get discovered beyond Twitter." Impressive, huh?
9 Tips for Improving your Promotional Writing
[fa icon="calendar'] 04-Jun-2012 18:09:00 / by Iliyana Stareva posted in Writing
When I was writing my dissertation a few months ago I had to spend a lot of the time by the library shelves of endless PR textbooks, where I also came across a book called ‘Publicity, Newsletters and Press Releases’ by Alison Baverstock that grabbed my attention. As a beginner in the field of writing I thought it was quite helpful because it was easy to comprehend, short, but also provided plenty of explanations, examples and practical advice.
Below you can find 8 tips I found particularly important that the author suggests for improving your promotional writing, specifically about how to put your text together, i.e. the ultimate words choice. The final tip is a bonus from me :)
No Phone, no Laptop, no Facebook for a Week – Can You Survive?
[fa icon="calendar'] 25-May-2012 18:45:00 / by Iliyana Stareva posted in General
Today many of us are addicted to constantly being available and reachable, mobile or online.
I admit I can’t live without my laptop, phone and the Internet, I feel naked without them, I absolutely get frustrated and angry and start wondering what’s going on on the net without me and what I’m missing – an important mail or a fun message.
Does that sound familiar? Come on, admit it, I bet it does! How long do you think you could survive without your so beloved laptop or phone? I'll tell you how long I made it – one and a half days. That’s all.
Last week I went for a brief holiday back to Germany to visit my friends and to relax a little bit, because the past few months were extremely stressful and I certainly needed a break. Of course, I also missed my girls a lot, who I haven’t seen for almost a year! As much as I enjoyed my stay, I had a sort of a rough beginning.
A World Without Google? [Infographic]

A world without Google? Seriously? No search, no e-mail, no maps, no translator, no reader, no docs (or as it is now Drive). What? Is that even possible?
It sure sounds absolutely impossible to me. I simply can’t imagine it. I can’t even remember how it was before Google (I am a digital native after all). Well, I admit I wasn’t so fond of Gmail in the beginning, but now I think that’s the best e-mail service and I’ve tried quite a few already. Sure, there are other similar products by various companies (e.g. Bing), but I am so used to Google and I most certainly love all their offerings, that I don’t want to give up on it and learn how to use other services. Do you?
If you don’t know, here’s a really cool Infographic that shows all the benefits Google offers. It should help you create a picture in your mind of a world without Google and whether you would like living in it.
