You’re studying PR. You’re in your final year. You’ve read a lot about why work in PR. You’ve already made the decision that PR is the right career for you. Great! But now you’re a little lost. You want to get into the industry, but what’s next? How do you get a PR job after graduation?

No worries. At the end of this post you’ll find a list of the 2015 PR graduate schemes in the UK currently open for applications.

These PR graduate roles are run by some of the best PR agencies not only in the UK, but in the world, so competition is tough. You need to be prepared for that. But if you’re driven enough, nothing is impossible.

There’s one thing you need to bear in mind though – the deadlines are quickly approaching. For most of the positions you need to submit your application by the end of January (which is two weeks away). Don’t worry though. It’s absolutely doable. You just need to be motivated.

My advice would be to go through the schemes, carefully pick the ones you think are the best fit by researching the company on the web and social, then close yourself at home or in the library to fill in those forms and to fix your CV if necessary.

Make sure you mention relevant work experience (even if very short, or even if it was just a project at university that was close to a real-life situation – be creative!) to show that you are not only interested in learning, but also growing your hands-on skills as a professional.

You might have to spend a few days filling out those forms, and I know it’s painful and hard work, but it’s worth it.

Once you have your applications ready, make sure you give them to someone to proofread – you don’t want to have typos in your documents, applying for a job where writing is the number one skill.

So go ahead, check out the graduate roles, chose the ones you think are right for you, complete the application forms and send!

If there are any PR agencies, running graduate schemes and want to be included in the list, please do get in touch, there are quite a few PR students who read this blog :)
