How to Schedule Pins on Pinterest

[fa icon="calendar"] 29-Sep-2012 17:29:00 / by Iliyana Stareva

Pinterest has been gaining more and more popularity not only among individuals, but also businesses  using the platform to engage with their audiences and effectively promote their products/services.

As a brand it’s not always easy to keep up with social media and be ‘available’ and active all the time. Tools like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck and inbuilt scheduling options such as the one on Facebook have allowed companies to automatically share content on their Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn platforms with pre-determined posts.

Scheduling in advance is now also possible for Pinterest with a new tool called Pingraphy, which makes it easier for brands to manage their Pinterest accounts and reach their audiences at all times. It can also save them time because as we all know pinning is very, very time-consuming and is also addictive – once you start, you can’t stop and so you spend even more time pinning.

What’s great about Pingraphy is that it’s free and easy to use. Just with a few simple steps you will be able to schedule your pins for the entire week or month and make sure you are always active on Pinterest to engage with your followers.

Sounds good? Here’s how to start scheduling your pins:

  • Go to Pingraphy and sign up
  • Get the bookmarklet for your browser toolbar

After you sign up drag the Pingraphy bookmarklet to your toolbar, which will allow you to just click on the bookmarklet every time you want to pin something from any webpage you are viewing without having to leave it.

  • Go to the website or blog where the images you want to pin are and click on the bookmarklet
  • Select the images you want to pin and click next

This is really great because you can pin multiple images at once.

  • Optimise the chosen images by giving them a good description to improve your SEO

As a brand it's also very important that you don't forget the URL below the description so that you can drive traffic back to your website or blog.

  • Choose the board you want to add the images to, your time zone and desired time for the pins to go online and click confirm

There is another option here: instead of scheduling your pins for the future you can upload them now, however this doesn't make much sense as the main function of Pingraphy is to schedule pins in advance anyway.

  • You are done!

Now you can keep your Pinterest followers engaged throughout the day and week.

On your Pingraphy dashboard you can see all the pins that you’ve scheduled so that you can keep track of what is about to go online and what still needs to be scheduled. The dashboard has metrics too such as repins, likes and comments for each pin, which allows you to track how your pins are performing and which ones are most popular among your audience without having to go on the actual Pinterest board.

What Pingraphy doesn’t have and I’m hoping it will soon is the option to schedule each of the selected images at different times.

Something I can’t seem to figure out is how to edit or delete scheduled pins (give me a hint if you know how to do that); I don't know if it’s possible yet, but I sure hope it will be soon because I think such an option is a must – people do make mistakes, you know :)

However, it is still a nice and useful platform for the ones struggling to pin exactly at the time when their audience is most active on Pinterest.

What do you think about Pingraphy? Will it be useful for your business?
